Here is my Top Eleven list of things that you can do to piss off a professional email marketer.

11. Call us spammers.

10.  Raise your revenue goal 30% without any foundation

9.  Ask if we can change out that image in the email 2 hours before deployment

8. Ask what the average open rate for our industry is.

7. Expect that we can turnaround a promotional email in under 48 hours.

6. Demand that we put the word “free” in the subject line

5. Ask that a revenue report be run 35 minutes after deployment

4. Say something like “Well at our last company we did email……..(blah blah)”

3. Ask if we test using 22 versions of the email with no reason and never leverage the data

2. Ask if we can “send just one more blast out…….”

1. Ask “Hey…are you the guy/person who does email blasting….”
