Email Engagement Index – Part 1
I had the good fortune of speaking with the great folks over at Pivotal Veracity the other week to learn a little bit more about their new product called “The Email Engagement Index”. According to PV, the EEI (email engagement index) is a report with never before tracked metrics which tells you how well you are engaging you customers. Some of the new insights it tracks are:
1. How much time transpires between when you send your email and when your customer logs in and sees it for the first time.
2. How many of your customers actually read your emails
3. What percent are using preview panes vs. full message view to read your email.
PV talks about your EEI score and then your Benchmark EEI (as it relates to other mailers in your respective industry) According to PV, your EEI ranking is based on 3 things: 1. Read rate 2. 1st seen to read and 3. % of emails read in both preview pane and full message view. I will highlight in future posts what each of these mean and how important these metrics are to email marketers.
In the meantime..sit back and relax…lets venture into some new territory together.
