How many times have you heard from people about your email campaigns from people who have no business giving advice?  Here are some of my favorite nuggets I have received over the years.

–  We should really change the subject line to let folks know that its free

–  Why don’t we just blast them again and see if we can get more registrations?

–  Lets add a couple more paragraphs

–  We need to find a way to track clicks on the text email

–  Let’s whip up another triggered email.

– Cmon email is free….lets just keep hitting them..eventually someone will respond.

– Lets hit as many people as we can!

I have a simple philosophy about people giving advice.  Give it and give is constructively, but ultimately when it comes to the basics of email marketing and best practices, I let folks know that I/my team are the professionals and we appreciate their input, but like to stick with what has been written as the best things to do in the industry.
