Why do I have to wait?

So read the whole image down below and answer me this question. Why should I wait 14 days to contact customer service if I am still getting email if the law states that they have 10 days to comply?  Makes no sense to me (unless they want that extra 4 days to send me more email, which is ridiculous).  Also, why in the world given all of the great technology that is out there today would any company even think to want to wait the 10 day maximum before removing me and better yet..why would they even want to tell me?

Great branding of their unsubscribe page huh?

No wonder why so many people hit the “this is spam” button rather than unsubscribe the right way if practices like this are occurring.  C’mon Direct Buy make it easier.
